Welcome to Marion County, Ohio!
Marion County is located in North Central Ohio and encompasses a total area of 404 square miles.
Our county seat is Marion. The county was created in 1820 and later organized in 1824. It is named for General Francis “The Swamp Fox” Marion, a South Carolinian officer in the Revolutionary War.
Marion County was the home of President Warren G. Harding, the 29th President of the United States. Harding and his wife are buried in Marion County in a tomb in Marion City.
With easy access to the Columbus Metropolitan area, Marion is becoming a great place for businesses and families to plant roots.
We have put this site together to give our residents access to their local government and resources available in our county.
